Depoe Bay & Sitka Lumber RR Layout in N-scale
Nice and very detailed N-scale layout project, featuring sea coast and mountain theme set somewhere in the U.S. Pacific Northwest with fishing and lumber industries. The track plan has single main line which passes via many tunnels and bridges and is suitable for both passenger and freight trains.

Description
Here is what David says about his layout project:
"My layout is a 6 x 9 ft. N scale portable design. It is a sea coast to mountain theme set in the U.S. Pacific Northwest with fishing and lumber industries. The layout has steep inclines with tight curves and loops over itself three times to reach about 8 ½ inch elevation. There are 25 turnouts and the mainline is about 2.5 scale miles long. I also have a two-loop helix under the lower right mountain. I struggled for a long time to get it to work properly until I discovered SCARM. I am using Atlas Code 55 track and turnouts and your program enabled me to get everything to fit properly. I have used Kato bridges to get a more realistic look in the 3D views.
I have been working on the design for several years and have now begun the construction phase. I am using steel framing studs for the baseboard with ¼ inch plywood deck to keep the weight lower than a wood structure. I hope to get the track completed next year and then work on the scenery and structures.
I am a MAC PC user, so I have to use Parallels software to be able to run your windows program. There are some challenges with that, but I have been able to work around them. Maybe someday you can create a MAC version of SCARM.
Thanks to your great program, I am excited to move toward completing my dream layout."
