Description
The layout is designed in SCARM and build by Cal from Oregon and is originally published in Model railroad layouts plans blog. Here is what Cal says about his layout:
“Here’s my layout so far. It’s a 4x8 HO scale and everything is scratch built down to the flocking except for the trees. Made my own flock, rocks, bridges, everything.
I designed the track so I can run 2 trains at the same time and I can run a locomotive in the yard all at once. I have a controller with 2 cabs.
Originally I had the station designed for the back of the layout with buildings along the yard and sidings. I think it turned out better than my original track plan.
Building this railroad has been a long wait. I’m 61 and have been yearning to build one for decades. I had to wait too the kids grew up and moved out before I had the time and the space to build one. Finally the day arrived. In mid November of last year, I got the urge. I watched tons of YouTube videos and learned a heck of a lot.”
See more info, more pictures and detailed explanations regarding the building process from Cal about his layout in Cal’s 4x8 railroad track plan and Cal answers some questions on his 4x8 layout articles in Moderailroadlayoutsplans.com blog.
